Storage and reconstitution: a practical beginner's guide

How to handle, mix, and store research peptides without degrading them.

by Editorial team

Before reconstitution

Lyophilized (powder) peptides should be stored refrigerated or frozen, depending on the compound.

Allow vials to reach room temperature before mixing to prevent condensation inside the vial.

Reconstitution basics

Most peptides are reconstituted with bacteriostatic water for stability over multiple days.

Inject the diluent slowly down the side of the vial — do not aim directly at the powder.

Storage after mixing

Reconstituted peptides should be refrigerated and used within the manufacturer's stated window.

Keep vials out of direct light and away from the freezer's back wall where temperature fluctuates.
